Just left MU, Ruud van Nistelrooy is preparing for a new job

Ruud van Nistelrooy set for new job after leaving Man Utd

Manchester United legend Ruud van Nistelrooy is reportedly being considered for two coaching jobs just days after leaving his post at Old Trafford.

The Dutchman joined Erik ten Hag’s coaching staff at Manchester United last summer, before taking over on an interim basis following the sacking of the former Ajax boss. After leading the team for four games, the former striker left his former club once again when Ruben Amorim took over.

Journalist Florian Plettenberg recently revealed that Bundesliga 2 side Hamburg are considering appointing Van Nistelrooy as their next head coach.

After Steffen Baumgart was sacked over the weekend, Hamburg are said to be considering Ruud van Nistelrooy, who spent a season at the German club. The 48-year-old striker has reportedly been “discussed internally”, but according to journalist Rudy Galetti, Leicester City have also approached Van Nistelrooy after sacking Steve Cooper late on November 24 (Vietnam time). It seems that the former Real Madrid star is becoming a target of many teams.

During his short time as interim coach at Manchester United, Van Nistelrooy helped the team win twice against Leicester, once against PAOK and draw with Chelsea. Before that, he also had a short term at PSV Eindhoven from May 2022 to May 2023, where he won the KNVB Cup.

Van Nistelrooy could find out whether he has been offered the Leicester or Hamburg job this week, with both clubs looking to make quick appointments to turn their seasons around. Leicester are currently 16th in the Premier League, just one point above the relegation zone, while Hamburg are eighth in the German second division.
