Cincinnati Bengals receiver Ja’Marr Chase met with cancer survivor Brixton Wood before and after the NFL Week 14 game against the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium on ABC/ESPN’s Monday Night Football, and he delivered on his pregame promise to Wood that he would do “the Griddy” for him after a touchdown.

Wood, a boy from Georgetown, Tex., was featured along with running back Trayveon Williams in a “My Wish” segment during ESPN’s “SportsCenter” last year, as members of the team welcomed the young Bengals fan in remission from leukemia to Paycor Stadium. Chase gave Wood some tips about how to hit “the Griddy,” Chase’s signature touchdown celebration dance. Wood was introduced to the team, and he played a game on the field with Chase and Williams.

“I went to see him yesterday when we got in town, and we hung for a little bit, played Madden,” Chase told ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt after the game. “And then I told him if we scored, I’d do a certain type of Griddy for him. And I told him as soon as I get a chance, I’m gonna Griddy and get you the ball. … I just want to put a smile on his face, make his dream come true and let him be a kid for as long as he can be.”
