Amorim directly involved in bringing Sporting star to MU

Ruben Amorim, the new manager of Man Utd, is working to complete his first signing as a manager at Old Trafford.

Amorim is set to make his first appearance as head coach of Man Utd against Ipswich Town this weekend. The 39-year-old Portuguese tactician has started his first training sessions with the team, quickly deploying the 3-4-3 system that has been his strength at previous clubs. During this session, names such as Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford were tested in key positions, revealing some of the lineup that will be on the field.

However, Manchester United’s current situation is not very positive as they are currently in 13th place in the Premier League table. This has forced Amorim to look for quality additions to the squad and Sporting’s Diomande is considered a top priority. According to many sources, Ruben Amorim has directly negotiated with centre-back Ousmane Diomande, a player valued at £68 million, to convince him to join the team.

The 20-year-old centre-back is currently one of the most promising young talents in Europe. Arsenal and Newcastle have also closely followed the player, while Manchester City have identified Diomande as an important target in the upcoming transfer window. It is known that Pep Guardiola’s team has assigned the task of recruiting him to new football director Hugo Viana, who will replace Txiki Begiristain next summer.

Although Diomande initially showed no interest in joining Man Utd, a direct conversation with his former coach Ruben Amorim changed his mind. Diomande is now leaning towards a move to Old Trafford to continue working with the coach who helped him develop.

Diomande’s contract with Sporting runs until 2027, with a £68m release clause. However, according to Portuguese newspaper O Jogo, Sporting could agree to sell for a lower price. However, the fact that they are competing in both the domestic league and the Champions League could make the deal difficult if it takes place in January.

Manchester United and Ruben Amorim not only face financial challenges, but also have to overcome fierce competition from other big clubs to win Diomande’s signature.
